Age: More than 10 years

hi i have a hoover 550mb washing machine the timer wont progress foward but i can select any part of the wash cycle manually and they all work fine however i have to manually move the timer to each section it does not progress in any section. Is it the timer or is there something else i should check

Hi,

You could use a volt meter to see if you have power to the timer motor.
If there is then you will need to replace the timer.

Chances are the timer is bad and will need to be replace.
You may have trouble finding a new timer for this washer with the age of it.

If you can not locate a new timer you may place a Wanted: ad in the classifieds at ApplianceJunk.com asking for one.

ok thanks i will try and hunt around for one because the machine is clean,quiet and i think( hope) it still has a lot of life left in it
