Default Hinge ball installation
Brand: Maytag
Age: 5 - 10 years

The tip for installing the hinge balls was not all that helpful. Here's how I did it.

Hold the lid flat, trapping one ball in the corner at its proper place.

Place the other ball in the pocket on the lid, then place that corner of the lid in the opening, trapping the ball between the lid and the top of the washer.

Push the angled side of the lid away from you. The second ball will slide along the opening's flange until it pops into the corner pocket.

I'm not sure how else to tell you how to do this.

The side they are calling angled will only be slightly angled because it is not in place.

With the ball trapped in between the lid and the top of the washer push the lid toward the back of the washer until it pops into place.

Can you please supply your model number?
