Thumbs up HELP!! It won't stop filling up :)
Brand: Other
Model Number: Signature???
Age: 5 - 10 years

Guys,

Please help I can't get my washer to stop filling up.... I have seen others posting about this but I can't figure out what kind of washer I have... it is a generic type that was passed down from my mother and all it says on it is "Signature"

From what i understand I think it is the pressure switch ??? When it is fillling it just continuously pours and if i move the knob to the next cycle it just shuts off... I have let it fill multiple times and it overflows.... I am no repairman but would really like to fix this myself.... any suggestions....

If you open the back, or pop the top (usually theres 2 spring clips holding the top down, use something like a putty knife, or a unused plastic card (like a bank/credit card) and you will find a soft tube about 1/4 inch in diameter. Sometimes there is something stuck in there and it can sometimes be fixed by blowing through the tube. If you can blow through the tube fine, you may have to replace the pressure switch.

Signature Was What Montgomery Wards Called Their Laundry Machines
They Used Westinghouse Washers & Dryers, And They Also Used Norges.
You Might Need A New Fill Switch, On An Old Machine Like Yours. But Old Machines Also Had Problems Sometimes With Faulty The Little Clear Plastic Hose, That Connects To The Lower Side Of The Tub.
To Test, Shut Off The Water Supply, Disconnectthe Tub End Of The Hose.
Set Controls To Fill, In Wash Cycle, Pull Out Timer Knob, Gently Blow On Hose If You Hear Motor Start To Agitate, Switch Is Good Hose Is Defective. Replace With New Hose And Problem Should Be Solved Bettyboop
