Unhappy Help!Washer won't spin
Brand: Roper
Age: 5 - 10 years

Hoping some one can offer some advice. My washer quits spinning or spins slowly, depending on its mood I guess. There is this burn't smell sometimes. Its always on the spin cycle after the rinse. If its a heavy load. Eg. jeans it quits then it has to cool down for an hour or so. Sometimes it hums other times it does nothing. It does this on all settings. Yet it washes, fills agitates, etc just fine. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Hi,

I would remove the washer cabinet and see if the sides are covered in oil.
If so then your gearbox is leaking oil. The clutch is getting oil on it making it slip and smell.

How to remove cabinet video

I'll get my husband to check it out after work tonight and let you know the verdict. Thanks for the pic and video. He works on cars so I would imagine appliances are a bit differnt- It should make it easier for him to find what he's looking for. Thanks
