Exclamation Help for the innocent..
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: LAT88408AL
Age: 5 - 10 years

Kid comes home from college with a car-ful of clothes, dinner plans this evening, kid declares "i have to wash my clothes first..." Mom goes to the garage to sort out the laundry and start the load.... no water... machine cycles in rinse and spin, but not is wash...

next...

Wakes father from sound sleep after satisfying round of golf... screaming that the washer doesnt work and the world will come to an end...

checked the water.. OK, changed temp, changed level.. Did a good amount of cursing...

No luck..

Can you help the innocent...

Check the lid switch assembly.

There is a fuse in it and if it has blown you should replace the assembly.

Here is the lid switch.

Here is a link to your washer model LAT8840bAL.
