When my washer is plugged in --nothing happens none of the cycles work- someone told me it was the timer as that is what makes it work!!!

If nothing is working it is likely the fuse in your house or a faulty wire.

Plug a lamp into the plug that your washer is plugged into and see if it works.

If the lamp works then is something in the washer.

Check the wiring in the washer.

Sheila--
I had done a load of wash a few days before I realized my washer wouldn't work. The outlet is fine-- I plugged a clock into it. After using it all this time why would the wiring be wrong? It wont fill with water on any cycle- or spin or anything--could it be the timer? Or perhaps ---what else!?

The wiring would not be wrong but there could be a wire burnt off.

Check the wiring harness that plugs into the timer.
