Question Have to push on door to make it run!
Brand: Gibson
Model Number: GWT445RGS1
Age: 5 - 10 years

Can anyone tell me what could be wrong..I have a Gibson Front end loader that works great! Except I have to stand there and push the door in for it to run.
If I let go of the door it stops running. Push it back in and it will run for a few seconds then stop again. It continues with the cycle where it left off as long as I stand there and keep pushing on the door. I tried replacing the door latch and it still does the same. The lock light is on continuously through out this. Tonight, I did try putting a small piece of duct tape on the latch and it did run through a complete cycle. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.

It sounds like the door switch assembly is what is causing your problem.

Take the switch out and check it.

Here is a link to your washer model GWT445RGS1.

Here is your switch assembly.

That was the problem! Replaced the part that you said it was and the washer works better than it did before. Thank You so much!
