Default Grinding noise
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: mav6000aww
Age: 5 - 10 years

The washer fills up then during the wash cycle it sounds like a bad bearing and begins to sound like a grinding noise during the spin cycle. After my research I realize this is not a unique problem, but I haven't found a definitive answer. Can anyone help?

Either a bad tranny or a pump problem. Pull belts off pump and tranny pully. Turn tranny pully both ways. If you feel things rough during agitate direction, you have a bad tranny. Check pump bearings by turning shaft.
