Default Getting Inside Stacked W/D
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MLE2000AYW
Age: 1 - 4 years

I have a Maytag Neptune stacked W/D unit. Won't spin. Problem is definitely 1 of 2 switches (inertial imbalance/upper tub displacement), both of which are NOT accessable through the front or back panel of the machine. I know where the switches are located within the machine as I have the spec sheet for the unit. The problem is I can only find manual repair instructions for a stand alone washer - not a stacked unit. I think to get to where I need to I either have to go through the top of the washer or remove the door boot. Being that the dryer is sitting directly on top of the washer, (all washer/dryer control knobs/buttons sit above the washer/are part of the dryer portion of the unit) I can't remove the top cover of the machine. It seems to me that the only way to get to the parts I need to replace will be by somehow moving the dryer at least partially off of the washer, but I'm not sure if its okay to do that or even whether its possible. All I know is that there has to be some way to get to the switches to replace them - This has to be doable . . . if I called a repairman you know he'd have to be able to do it!

My Model # is MLE2000AYW on the dryer part of the unit and MHS2000AWW on the washer part.
