Default Gentle Cycle doesn't work
Brand: Roper
Model Number: RTW4340SQ
Age: Less than 1 year

Bought a used Roper washer from a college student who only used it 5 months and is now moving to another state - it looks brand new.
Got it home and everything seems to work fine, but the gentle cycle. It fills, but won't agitate. Can hear a light 'buzz' but nothing happens. All other cycles work.
A small white plastic part (maybe 3 inches long, curved) fell out when we were moving the washer into place, but I have no idea what it is or if it has anything to do with this problem. Any help appreciated!

Can you send a picture of the piece that fell out.

What does the washer do on the gentle cycle?

Does it fill with water?

If the washer is only 5 months old there should still be warranty on it and the warranty is usually transferable.

Here is a link to your washer model RTW4340SQ.

If the product was moved, here's what I would check. Unplug the washer, and pull it away from the wall, andunplug the wiring harness, and then plug it back in, and on most roper washer, which is made by whirlpool, there is a start capacitor, right next to the motor, it is black in color, and attached to the side of the moter, it has 2 wires going to it. Make sure they are pluged in. But, I do agree with sheila, if it is under a year old, you don't want to mess with it, because a service man can void the warranty. But check those two things real quick. something could have come loose in the move. Take care, and Good Luck Tom
