Default Gearcase leak
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 11092962101
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a stacked Kenmore washer dryer and had to lay on its side to transport it. At the end of the 3 hour trip, I find a puddle of oil which originated from the gearcase. (quantity ?) This unit has been in storage for 3 years.

First, is this a sign of a leaky gearcase? Can the oil be replenished through a filler or do I have to replace the gearcase?

Help

Rich

The gear case hold between 13 and 16 ounces of oil.

If the it lost an ounces or two while on its side it will likely be fine.

To add oil and replace the top cover seal the transmission would have to be removed.

Here is a link to the parts of your washer model 11092962101.
