I put a load of clothes on to wash before I went to bed and when I got up the next morning they were still washing (agitating) in the very first cycle. I tried turning the knob to the spin cycle in order to get the water out of the washer and the timer clicks like it's working but nothing is happening. It won't drain or spin. All other cycles seem to be working. Could this be the timer or possibly the water pump?

When you say it works in the other cycles, are you saying that it will wash and drain? If so replace the timer. It sounds to be like it is the timer becuse it never advanced.
