Default GE washer will not change speed!
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: wwse3160
Age: 5 - 10 years

Washer makes a clicking sound, like a relay, when it switches to slow agitate speed or when it goes into the spin cycle. It tries to change cycles. but will not kick down to slow agitate speed in normal cycle, nor will it agitate in the gentle cycle. Sometimes it catches, sometimes it stops trying and you just hear the pump. ?

If the clicking is coming from the bottom of the washer it is likely something to do with the motor.

If the clicking is coming is coming from the console then it would be in the control.

Can you please check your model number as there seems to be characters at the end missing?

If your motor will only work in one speed then it is likely the motor.

Here is a link to your washer model wwse3160a0ww.
