Default GE Washer problem
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: WBSE3120B1WW
Age: 5 - 10 years

Model WBSE3120B1WW
SN HD 1609486

I have a GE washer that is making a Ratching soung when it gets to the spin cycle.

I remover the front cover and watched it when it gets to the spin cycle.

The motor spins and the belt turns and the transimission turns when this sound is made. How can i narrow it down to one of the 3 componeits?

If i press the Start button several times it will eventualy start to spin without making the ratching sound.

Also...
The machine also stops durring a cycle some times and ii haveto press the strt button several times. I have checked the connectors going to it and all are tight and secure. so i figure the control board is bad.

With that problem and the Spin problem iam wondering if i should just junk it or fix it.

Any help will be great.

Thanks

Could there be something in the pump cause the sound?

It is hard to determine what might be causing the noise in your washer.

Here is a link to your washer model WBSE3120B1WW.

No its not the pump i think its either the Transimsson or the Clutch and or motor

Can you test each one spertly?

it makes a ratching sound when it tries to spin.

You can remove the belt and see if the motor is making the noise but with out a load on it it may not make the noise.
