Question GE bottom trans bearing destroyed
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: GWA70B
Age: 5 - 10 years

Hi every body.

The bearing in the bottom of transmission is destroyed. I tryed to pull-out with my special bearing extractor, but it doen't move at all. I was unable to get out the support plate too.

If it is possible, I need instructions on how to get that bearing out of the shaft.

Very thanks to any one who can help me.

Can you please verify your model number?

It should be on a tag with the serial number.

OK Sheila,
The model number posted is the right one:

GE washer, top loaded, 8 cycles.

Model - GWA 70 B
S/N - VSK 054779
Year - Nov. 1997

This model was assembled and selled in Venezuela

Transmission and Brake assy. # 279566 in the Repair Clinic list.

In my transmission, a green paper label shows the number - 9112010260 under a BarCode.

I only need to know what is the right way to get out the bearing from the shaft.

Thanks and best regards.
