Default A funny "gas" smell.......
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: WJSR2070BSWW
Age: 5 - 10 years

Hi all!

i got a 6 year old GE cloths washer
for the most part its worked quite well, no real problems come to mind
but as of lately we been looking for a phatom "gas" smell
well its coming from the washer but here's the kicker
we have no gas appliences in our house
in fact we have a electric producing windmill and we're a green energy house
so our question is......

What's making gas smells in our washer? Is it methane gas or a bad mix of soaps??

we use the costco Kirtland brand powder soap
we use awesom Oxy in stead of bleach
and our water is from our deep well out front
we haven't a clue whats causing the smell

thank you for your help as we are stumped .......

Kenny

The smell could be in the water.

Have you had your water tested?

There may be sulfur in your water.

Do you use warm water?

Check the outer tub for soap residue.

Here is a link to your washer model WJSR2070BSWW.
