Unhappy Front Load Washer Won't Drain
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FWT647GHS1
Age: 5 - 10 years

Help please. My washer won't drain. A service tech. came out & said it was the motor pump without taking anything apart. A friend who had fixed his washer came out to take out the motor & check the hose to see if anything was stuck in there. After removing all the particles that were found, he had put the motor back and try to see if it would work. It was washing but still not draining. The motor was viberating and working so he does not know why it won't work. Is there a seperate motor for draining the water because we only saw one and that was in the front? The only thing he said after taking the motor out was that it was a little rusty. Please help.

Did Your friend check the coin trap for something blocking it.

There are two motors in the washer. One is for the wash and spin.

The other is the pump and motor assembly.

Here is a link to your washer model FWT647GHS1.

Here is the drain pump and motor.

Question Help! Front Load Washer Won't Drain

We cleaned out the coin trap and removed all the coins there & in the slinder black pipe that was also connected to the drain pump. You said there were 2 motors, could you show me a picture of the wash & spin one. Is there a way to clean or check to see if anything is stuck in the long slender black pipe that connects on the side of the drain pump to the outside of the machine to the wall?

You could have something cought in the drain hose. Place hose in a bucket, select drain and see if anything comes out, like lint or other stuff. If ok, but weak water flow you might have a weak pump or bad impellar.
