Default Front load fills to the top, will not drain
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FWT445GES2
Age: 5 - 10 years

my front load Frigidaire FWT445GES2 occasionally fills to the top of the glass door and will not drain. It will go 10-20 washes and then fill to the top, stop and not drain- I move the control know to another setting and it drains fine.

I removed the black rubber hose at the bottom of the pump and removed several coins. I thought this fixed the problem but after 4-5 washes it did the same

any ideas where I go next?

It sound like the pressure switch may be sticking when it fills to the top of the door but that should not stop it from draining.

How are you getting it to drain?

Is there anything else that happen when it fill to the top of the door?

Does it try to wash?

Here is a link to your washer model FWT445GES2.

as far as I can tell...

the washer starts out washing just fine.

The water level just keeps filling and never drains until it is completely full (which I am sure it is not suppose to do in a front load). Then the machine stops.

Water is then leaking thru the door onto the floor.

I turn the knob to a new wash cycle and it drains and finishes.

It only does this every 10 or so washes.

I figured the coins in the pump trap were the problem, but after cleaning out the coins it did it on about the 5th wash

It is likely the pressure switch sticking.

The pressure switch is what controls the water level.

I could not find a "pressure switch" listed on the parts breakout for this model.

can you help with the part #, and/or page it is listed on at partselect.com?

The pressure switch is number 17 on the breakdown and the part number is PS1150796.
