Default Front Door Leaks
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MAH5500BWW
Age: 5 - 10 years

While filling the front door begins to leak, gush.

I believe that it is overfilling. Reason is b/c in past when door locks for washing & I pause, after a few moments it would unlock door & would have some water but not above door. Today when I paused & the door unlocked, I opened & the water poured out onto the floor.

Don't know what part I will need to repair this problem? Help please.

You will need either a fill valve or the pressure switch.

Watch the washer as it is filling and shut it off.

If the water stops coming in the fill valve is fine and you will need a pressure switch.

If the water continues to come in after you shut the washer off you will need a new fill valve.

The pressure switch is on the base diagram and the fill valve is on the control panel and top diagram.

You will need your series number of the washer which is the first two digits of the serial number.
Here is a link to your washer model MAH5500BWW.
