Default Frigidaire Washer
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: CAN'T READ IT WORN OFF
Age: 1 - 4 years

I am trying to get the idler pulley and spring off this washer and wondered if anyone had worked on one of these and could tell me how to get the ider pulley off without taking off the bottom of this washer, it looks like the bolt goes up under the motor and there's no way to get to it from the bottom unless you remove the bottom. I'm wondering if this is a cap nut that just presses on the end of the shaft, hopefully.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Remove the front panel of the washer.

There should be two spring clip that hold the panel to the top of the washer.

The clips are about two inches from the sides.

Use a putty knife to release the clips.

I was needing the tensioner off to change it and the spring; is the bolt for it under the motor where you have to remove the motor to take it off.
THANKS DLM1954

You should just have to remove the belt and then remove the C clip retainer the holds the idler arm assembly to the leg and dome.

If you could supply even a part of the model number I may be able to show a breakdown of the washer.

CLWS1233ASI And the c could be an 8,6 or b; they put it under the lid so the water and detergant has made it hard to read. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP. I've had three vehicles a computer and stove and then the washer go down in the last three to four weeks.

Here is a link to your washer model GLWS1233AS1.

If you still have your owners manual you should right the number down on it or in a safe place for future reference.

Sheila I found out the belt is slipping because the main spin bearing is bad and getting hot and locking up the washer in the spin cycle. It looks like I'm going to have to remove the bottom pulley then remove the whole tub assembly to get to this bearing out unless you know a better way. I sure appreciate your help I'm disabled and trying to save money on this repair, because the repair would cost more than the washer probally if I had to pay a repairman; so any help would be greatly appreciated.
THANK YOU

Yes you will have to take the agitator and tub out as well as the transmission to replace the bearing.
