Exclamation Electrical burning smell
Brand: Roper
Model Number: rax7254bw
Age: 5 - 10 years

I just replaced the coupling and put everything back togather and ran a test on the final spin cycle. It spun fine but had a burning smell (not rubber but electrical). If I accidentally reversed the wires on the capacitor would that make it smell that ?

Thanks , I had somebody who used to be a Sears repair person look at it really quickly and they said it was definely metal grinding with the metal burning smell while it was spinning. A quick guess was probably the gearbox.
