Whirlpool Duet dryer will not turn or run. Controls and monitors indicator lights are working. When start button is pressed and held the only response is a click sound. Normally this clicking sould would indicate that the dryer is about to start turning. There's no sound or indication that the motor is running. It' stopped with a load of a very wet heavy load of clothes (cotton), water dripping almost (young daughter's error)

Any repair suggestion is appreciated.

Check for bad thermistor and lid switch. The service info will indicate the room temperature resistance. Most probable failure is thermistor.

Thank you for your recommendation, but I opened the back of the dryer last night and discovered that the belt is busted. Will try to get a replacement today and see what happens after I installed it.
