The washer will not spin properly. It seems to be rubbing on someting on the inside of the drum. the spin cycle only turns very slowly and seems to turn hard even by hand. Any advice on where to start looking for the problem?

There are a couple of things to check.

1. The drum bearing could be worn out. Here's a link to the bearing.

2. There could be something stuck, e.g. an underwire from a bra, causing the drum not to turn freely.
