Angry Drum spins slow and will not drain water out
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: pav3300aww
Age: Please select

drum spins slow and you can hold it by hand and keep it from spinning , will not drain water out. is it the trans mission or what ,plus can not find what transmission it has in it .

Remove the front panel and check the pump.

There may be something stuck in it not allowing it to pump out.

To remove the front panel there are two clips that you will have to release.

Use a putty knife to release the clips, there is one on each side about two inch in from the side between the top and the front panel.

removed front cover and checked pump and it is not that, transmission is slipping and not able to correctly get up to speed and makes a horrible screeching noise when it stops and will stop extremely fast . have checked belt and motor and pump and all are working correctly .

You may have a bad tub bearing.

Do you see any water or soap marks under the tub.
