Default Drum spinning instead of agitating
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FWX445RFS2
Age: 5 - 10 years

During the wash cycle, the drum in our washer has started spinning rather than agitating as it should; the agitator will rotate clockwise, stop, rotate clockwise, etc...but the inner tub just spins clockwise constantly. I'm thinking there should be some sort of one-way clutch/brake to regulate this, but do not see one listed in the diagrams on partsselect.com. I see a bearing listed (part # PS446536) and have seen bearings with the one-way function built in (I'm an industrial mechanic), so I'm wondering if that may be the case, or is this function built in to the transmission itself, requiring the transmission to be replaced?

You are right there is a one way bearing at the bottom of the transmission.

Here is a link to your washer model FWX445RFS2.
