Door won't lock to allow spin Brand: Maytag Model Number: mah4000aww Age: 5 - 10 years Our 8 year old Maytag stopped spinning in the final cycle about 2 weeks ago. The motor works but would not final spin. A technician diagnosed the problem as a blown upper circuit board (obvious circuit damage) and wax motor (carbon dust at connection). I ordered and replaced both parts but the door will still not lock to allow the washer to spin at the end of the cycle.
After confirminging the 3 door switches (ohm meter test) were working properly, I tricked the washer into thinking the door was locked by jamming a piece of paper into both door switches and the washer spun at the end of the cycle, but the door was not really locked and the washer did stay "on" at the end of the cycle.
I thought the replacement wax motor might be defective but that seems unlikely. Any thoughts on what I should do next? Thanks for any advice you might have. |
