Default Door lock light comes on but will not spin
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: mah4000aww
Age: 5 - 10 years

Hi the door lock light comes on but will not spin. It will fill and drain. Last August I replaced the wax motor for the same problem with no change then I replaced the control board and the problem was solved till now. Do I need a new control board? A unbalance switch? A new motor & control board kit? The wax motor is good and I assume the door switch is ok since the light does come on. Please help!

Yes need board. Your triak has blown again. There is a cheap alternative repair. Just wire in a 200ohm 10 watt resistor from the wax motor to the start switch. Will lock door and work just fine assuming your wax motor is still good. Also you can just permanently tape both door latch microswitches closed, will do the same thing.
Please ask for details.

Can you please give details? can the board be repaired? Is there a scimatic available for the board (part # 22002989)? Is the triak a component on the board and can it be replaced? The cheap fix would be ok if I can do it correctly. Thanks

Go to web site Maytag No Spin Problem - Alternate Solution - Appliance Blog Forums
Donno where to get resistor, maybe circuit city, Radio shack has nothing.
There is no schematic available for the pc board. Also remember to add a surge protector to the washer wall outlet, saves blowouts like this.

Does it take two minutes to open the door after the washer is turned off. If so you have other problems, door is locking & wax motor is working.
