Default Dog Gone Problem
Brand: Inglis
Model Number: X044101
Age: More than 10 years

From searching this informative forum I have concluded that the "dogs" in the agitator are no longer working as intended. Thus, the ratchet effect of the "spiralator" is no longer doing its job. How do I take this agitator apart to confirm my suspicions before ordering parts? Are there special tools required?

Pop off the cap on the agitator, remove the 7/16" bolt from center of agitator, then pull up slowly and firmly and agitator will come off. Then step on the bottom of agitator, and pull off the top half of agitator to reveal the worn out dogs.

HI Betty Boop
I thank you for your feedback. With much puzzlement I finally accomplished what you have told me to do and I have now replaced the broken "dogs". I sure wish you had heard my plea earlier.

Well Loyd I see these replace dogs apeals, and people don''t realize how unimportant the dogs are, your washer will wash as good without them, so it's not that important to me, if the dogs in my wifes washer were bad, she wouldn't know if I didn't show her!!

I noticed right away that the spiral gadget was not working because when it does the clothes seem to circulate from top to bottom as the agitator/ spiralator do their job. Whether or not this is important or not I don't know but in my mind I think it is. This is possibly just good marketing by Inglis. Anyway BettyBoop; I thank you for the feedback.
