Default Doesn't agitate on normal cycle
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 110.92283100
Age: More than 10 years

Washer runs great on "heavy duty cycle" but on Perm Press and Normal it doesn't agitate. Water fills, timer advances, it spins but no agitation on any cycle other than Heavy Duty.

Thanks for the help. I recently replaced the timer on this washer with new timer and it worked for about two weeks till this started happening this weekend. It was working ok on all cycles after new timer, but just started this problem with agitation this weekend. I could try returning the timer under warranty but it doesn't seem to be timer problem.

Your new timer probably blew out. Too late now but I usually check motor current to confirm no motor problems. Pull cover off timer and check for destroyed contacts.
If you have a speed control switch, it could be bad also.

Thanks for the info. The "old" timer didn't advance at all and washer didn't work on any cycle, so it looked like the timer was a good bet at the time. I'll check it out over the weekend. I curious if there is a "speed control switch" on my Kenmore?
