The washer will fill, spin, drain, but not agitate on the delicate or hand wash cycle. It appears to work on the other cycles, but becomes out of balance real easy. How can I check the motor to find out if the low speed works or not?

Does the motor use 120 volts? Is it OK to run the motor without any water in the tub to check it out? Are there any repair books that you would recommend?

The motor does run on 120 volts.

It is OK to run it without water in the tub but the washer will not agitate without water.

Check the selector switch it may be your problem.

Follow the wiring diagram this will tell you what wire are for the slow speed.
