Default Direct Drive Clutch
Brand: Roper
Model Number: ras 6223kqo
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a Roper extra large cap washer which would not spin fast enough.
I got a book on washers and decided to replace the clutch. Not that hard to do. I have a great appliance parts store near me and am pretty handy.
Anyway the machine now runs fine, spins great overall seems fine except.....
As it is coming up to speed on the spin cycle only, it is making a squealing sound.
I think it is the clutch getting broken in. Any ideas. I dont mind taking it apart again if there is something I missed.
The clutch came with two springs a green one and a blue one installed. The spring chart said to use the blue one, but it mentioned a black one as the other spring not a green one.

I though about putting a litle drop or to of water on the clutch to see if i stopped the noise, but I don't want to contaminate the clutch.

Can I run this on its back?

Default Fixed it

I fixed the noise. When I re-assembled the clutch I left out a washer. I dsicovered this as aI w s about to throw out the old parts. I took it all apart, put the washer where it belongs, and its fine.
