Yes - the diamond came off the setting and went through the holes.

You will need to pull the agitator off by taking off the nut on top below the dispenser top. Then remove the plastic rim on top of the tub.
Then you will need to take off the nut on top of the spin basket. You can use a short pipe wrench. Turn counterclockwise to get off.
I usually tap down with a hammer to break it loose . Once the spin basket is out you can look for the diamond in the base.
When putting the basket back on top of the drive block make sure the spin tube tabs mate with the groves in the drive block.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the advice...
I looked at the diagram for the washer and decided to avoid (at first anyway) pulling the washer apart. The pump is plastic and "should" be weaker than a diamond, so at worst I could get it stuck there. We tied a Stocking around the hose discharge. Ran a couple of empty loads -- no luck. This morning, with visions of wrenches dancing in my head, I went to work trying to figure the next step. I told my wife to go ahead and use the machine, checking the stocking after every load.
She just called
One, VERY CLEAN diamond! She packed it and the setting up for a trip to the Jeweler!
