Default Darn washer
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FWTR867GHS0
Age: 5 - 10 years

Evening,

Just trying to figure out why (three weeks after warranty) my front loading washer has decided it doesn't want to spin or drain any more. I have read the door lock switch may be the problem. I am however open to any pearls of wisdom anyone may have. I'm trying to fix this myself and trying to be a little educated before I end up with a parts sale on the laundry room floor. Anyone, anyone, a little help here......

Thanks,
J

You have a belt which if slipping or broken would cause that. Here's a diagram of your parts.

My washer is still agitating the load it just will not go into the spin cycle and drain. Still a belt problem. Sorry for so many questions but I haven't a clue!

Well yes it can be the lid switch which will prevent it from spinning if the door is open so you won't get your arm caught in it. Check it here>>>

Default Thank you

When I did a little research on the web, a lot of comments were made about the door lock switch (as this is a front load model). I have noticed that my switch has degenerated over the years and it is a little on the sticky side. Could this prevent the old spin and drain?? Since I'm sure this is extremely high grade plastic material....

I am looking at buying a used washer - same model you are having trouble with (FWTR867GHS0). I'm concerned that I can't find a user guide or much other information online about this unit...Would you recommend it? Is CDN $275.00 a good price do you think? I only see the door switch as a common problem so far...

Default Good washer

This washer has been great, turns out my only problem was with my wifes bobby pin. The washer is up and running again and hasn't had any problems, save this minor one in 4 years. The price sounds right as well!!

Cheers,
J
