Wink Coupler replacement
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 119.28882790
Age: 5 - 10 years

Now that I have determined it's the coupler, could someone walk me through
the prossess of getting at it? Do I have to remove the cabinet and if so, what are
the steps? You would think they would have put the motor in faceing the rear
instead of the front. Thanks!

Yes, you do have to remove the cabinet, depending on you model you either have a 2 screws holding down the front panel. On some models they are on the front left corner of the control panel, and the other on the right side. On other models those two screws are located on the back of the control panel, if you are behind it, and looking at it, the screws would be on the lower left, and right of the control panel. Either one, the screw would be a phillips head screw. Anyway, once you get the screws out, flip back the control panel, and on the left, and right side up top on the cabinet, you will see, a brass clip, pop them out, and unplug the molex plug, and pull the cabinet to you, and off. Then pop off the upper, and lower clip that holds the pump on, and the hoses, and remove. Then take the two clips off that hold the motor in place. Some models have a 1/4 inch screw in those two clips. Remove motor, and you are there. If you need further instruction, I can be reached at my web site at ApplianceEducator.com Tom
