Default Commercial dryer
Brand: Inglis
Age: More than 10 years

The greenwald timer in this machine seems to be operating the microswitches ok, they are opening and closing the contacts, but the dryer goes through the cycles and never shuts off.

I am hoping some of you tech's have seen this before.
Thanks, Jim

Talking Commercial dryer timer

Hey Jimbo !!!
There are two switches in the TMR: one control gas valve marked with letter "A" on switch, the other controls main dryer motor and the timer motor mark "B", but after some "technician ?" mix up, the wires may be reversed "sic". Put about 4 quarters to activate the cycle, use a icecream stick to push on micro switch one at a time you can tell which one is which. The gas switch always or most of the time turns the gas off about 2 minutes before the main switch so laundry won't burn customer hands folding them thus COOL DOWN switch. Or the main switch just broke because of metal fatigue - the spring inside the switch crack and the switch melted together in ON positon. Uhhh ! Sort like the bridge collaped somewhere in Minnesota. There are only three wires but label the wires exactly or you will be sorry later, remove the bad switch take it to Home Depot or Lowe's. There is an adjusting screw on the activating bar on top of the switch but I do not think this is your case. Also timer motor may be burnt, or timer motor drive shaft round off or escapence - a fancy word for transmission gears- may be messed up. Still can't do it, e-mail me I'll try again. Good fixing.
