Default Clutch or transmission
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: wwsr3090t8ww
Age: 5 - 10 years

The spin cycle will not always start by it's self.
A moderate helping hand on the tub will start the spinning.
I took the clutch off and there looks to be plenty of of shoe material left.
I read the previous threads about a water leak knocking out the bottom bearing.
I did see several drops.
Not a major leak.
The machine has always been loud when spinning.
How do I tell if the problem is the clutch or a bad bearing in the transmission that prevents the spin cycle start up?
Go ahead give me the bad news, I can take it.
Thanks.

You have sticking spin tube bearings+a bad tranny. Yes bad news. I have never replaced these parts, all customers opt for new washer and not GE.
