Default Clutch problem
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: ewa2000
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a GE Washer that doesn't spin or wash cycle. I have narrowed down the problem to a clutch assembly. When i removed the bottom of the panel of the washer, the clutch pulley assembly had slid down the shaft of the motor assembly and popped of the retaining clip. The clutch assembly now just slides on the shaft of the motor. My question is if I replace the clutch, how will it stay on the shaft? Also , is there supposed to be a pin that sticks through the shaft of the motor so the clutch can lock into it, because if there is, the pins appear to have been sheared off.

The retaining clip does hold the clutch pulley assembly on the motor shaft.

Yes there is a pin that the pulley locks into.

Here is a link to your washer model ewa2000.

The pin should be available.

The model number that you supplied is only showing the most common parts.

Check your model number. There may be a letter at the end of it to give a more detailed breakdown of your washer.
