Default Clicking prior to Spin Cycle
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: SAWS800HQ
Age: 5 - 10 years

My six-year-old Kirkland Signature brand Whirlpool washer starts making a clicking sound prior to entering the spin cycle. This problem started about two weeks ago and is intermittently getting worse. Sometimes it will start the spin cycle, and sometimes it will just stop for a while and then start the cycle. At other times, it will rapidly keep clicking as if it wants to start the cycle, but doesn't. I just replaced the timer switch and motor, at a cost of $100, put in a load of clothes, and...I still have the problem.

If anyone has any solutions for this problem, I certainly would appreciate your input. Thanks!

Your brake shoes may be dragging causing the clutch to wear out. I usually remove the brake shoes, grind the shoes down and add a little oil.
