Unhappy Can transmission parts be obtained
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LDA5300
Age: More than 10 years

Agitator ceased to operate. Disassembled the transmission housing to uncover that the spring that pushes the agitator shaft upward, that is directly bolted to the agitator, had rusted and thus busted up into pieces and no longer had enough material to push the agitator shaft up to engage it to the drive mechanisms. What I need is simply the spring, perhaps seals and obviously new oil and gasket. Locating a proper spring or adequate replacement is what I hope to find. Anyone got any ideas?

Can't bring up that model #, please check for errors. If you have a belt driven washer you have a really old washer. Also my parts site shows tranny and parts no longer available.
