Default Burning odor
Brand: Amana
Model Number: LWA50AW
Age: 5 - 10 years

:) Ran a load of laundry and noticed the room had a burnt odor when I placed cloths into the dryer. Started second light load in washer.
When dryer was done the second washer load was found to be very wet. the washer tub would not spin.

Took off front panel and found that if I pushed on the idle lever and had the machine in spin the tub would begin to spin.

Motor is OK. Is a new belt all I need or should I check something else?

Check the pump to make sure the pulley is turning freely.

Make sure the idler arm is moving freely.

Here is a link to your washer model LWA50AW.
