Default Bumping sound
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: fwt645rhs0
Age: 1 - 4 years

my daughter bought this machine at lowes, was installed by my son. i pulled the top off the washer this morning, and noticed that there were three yellow plastic stems sticking out the back of the machine. they had rubber grommets around the ends. i was wondering if these were for shipping or do they keep the tub stabilized some how. my wife said that the tub is loose now, she thinks that something is broken. hope you can help!

You should be able to move the tub back and forth.

Yes it does sound like these were the shipping ties.

Has the bumping stopped?

disregaurd this post did not relise the unit may be out of warranty

Lowes has its own techs that do warranty work I would call Lowes and get them to have someone come in and check the problem if parts are needed they would fall under warranty

Wink

hey guys&gals, found the problem! one broken shock assorber[ thats what i will call them], and one that was cracked. these are located at the bottem left and right of the tub assembly.found them locally, about 33.95. this must have been a factory prob. for they completely redesigned the strut[ it is full metal now], so if this is the sound[more aloud thumping or banging] look at this area. thanks lots, and stick with you fellow d.i.y.ers.
