Our ancient GE clothes washer has finally given up the ghost (clutch assembly on Spin drive.) We are very interested in your input on the ease and cost of repair of various makes and models. Also what is the difference in the ease and cost of working on front loaders vs. top loaders. One repairman I contacted today wouldn't even talk to me if our old GE had been a frontloader so I figured they probably require aggravating work or have parts that are hard to get. Tell All!

Front loaders are expensive to repair (computer boards Ect) most people buy a long extended warranty if they buy a front loader. one repair could cost350-600$
some of the popular front loaders cost 500-1200$ Top loaders range from 275-700$ and repairs are way cheaper
