Default Basket not spinning though basket drive shaft is working
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LSR8010PQ2
Age: 1 - 4 years

I have a Whirlpool LSR8010PQ2 direct drive washer. I also have the repair manual and parts list for this washer.

I am mechanically inclined and have disassembled the machine. I have confirmed that both the agitator and spin tubes spin at the appropriate times during the cycle. The pump works and the lid switch works. I have run the machine with the cover off and agitator off to verify that the spin shaft is spinning inside the basket drive block.

When removing the Basket Drive Block, I noticed deteriorated rubber (which explains the black spots on my clothes!). What part number could this rubber part be that is below the basket drive block?

The problem is that the Basket Drive Block is not securely attached to the spin shaft. In other words, the spin shaft rotates, but just spins inside the basket drive block.

MY QUESTION IS:
Can anyone please explain which part I need to order to ensure a good fit between the basket drive block and the spin shaft? Is their a rubber part that fits below the basket drive block?

I very much appreciate any help you can provide!!

Here's a close-up of the basket drive block showing that there are no notches. Maybe the metal got torn away?

Haven't you noticed the broken drive block? the noches that hold it to the drive tube are'nt there any more? that holds the basket and makes it turn!

when you get your new drive block, you might have to clean up the two tangs that lock in the driveblock, as sometimes when the noches break off they mar the tangs, so make sure they fit tight, use a file to dress up the tangs if needed.Bettyboop

thanks for the help bettyboop!

Can you help explain the burned rubber that I found on the base of the drive block? I'm assuming there is a seal that I will need to replace, but I can't seem to locate it on the parts list.
