Brand: Amana
Model Number: LWF70AW
Age: 5 - 10 years
Figured out how to replace belt.

Machine makes loud banking noise. White nylon thingy is slipping making noise.

Seems like nylon thingy is two parts and the separate. When machine goes in one direction the two pieces are together and no noise. when tub goes into other direction two pieces separate and noise is heard. What can it be?

Looks like the belt being broken is only the effect of the problem. Need help fining the cause.
