I had a tech from A&E appliances come out and look at my 6 year old Roper washer and he advised me that I needed to purchase the entire basket. Apparently the ring balancer can not be put back on because it has a sealant but I was told by the customer service representative at Roper that the ring balancer is held to the basket by clips. I do notice the ring balancer moving around freely around the basket but I do not notice any visible clips holding it down. I just need to know if the tech gave me the correct information because I would hate to purchase a new washer for just a loose ring balancer and missing clips.

The tub ring and clip are available for your washer.

If the tub is damage and the clip will not stay in then you would have to replace the assembly.
