Default Attaching Front Panel on Maytag washer
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: LAT9357AAE
Age: 5 - 10 years

I know sounds like a stupid question...but I took off the front panel because I was checking for leaks and I can't get the front panel back on!

There are clips on the top and I'm not sure if I have them in the right position. It appears to be better when I put the front panel top part first and then all I have to do is slide the bottom part of the panel in afterwards. The panel is too loose now and it it is throwing off the leveling feet and making it out of balance and it sounds like a train during spin cycles. I've searched the internet and can't seem to find anything.

BTW. I've been using less laundry detergent and less fabric softener, so I haven't seen leaks in awhile. I'm not sure if this fixed the leaking problem though.

You might have bent the retaining clips on the panel.

There are clip at the bottom and the top.

Here is a link to your washer model LAT9357AAE.

Look at the clips in the parts list and see if your are bent.

The bottom of the panel should be attached first and then the top.

The top clips are item 5 and the lower clip are item 15.

Thanks for the response Sheila, but the clips aren't bent. I needed to find the right position for the clips and needed to push the front right side to make sure the clips attached to the indentations. I thought some screws might be loose, but the screws are fine.

Right now my washer sounds much better and with its new leveling feet doesn't sound like a train going by.
