 Agitator will rock but won't turn Brand: KitchenAid Model Number: YKAWE752WW0 Age: More than 10 years
The agitator will rock back and forth but it won't turn with a nearly full load. Thus, the clothes are not gradually pulled down and thus don't get as clean as they should. I took the agitator assembly apart but nothing seemed worn out. I replaced everything including the cam, the four plastic dogs and the retainer ring and tightened the bolt as much as possible. I noticed that the agitator will gradually turn full circle if I apply some downward pressure on the agitator while the washing machine is going. When I checked the parts list, I noticed something called a "thrust spacer" in the agitator repair kits (PS334650 or PS 334622 or separate part "cam bearing" PS 342478) but I was not able to locate such a piece for my washer. Did it wear out and disappear down the drain or did I accidentally looase the piece while disassembling the agitator or does my older washer not come with one of these? Also I could not locate my model number - is my 15 year old model too old or has KitchenAid changed model numbers? |
