Default Agitator will rock but won't turn
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: YKAWE752WW0
Age: More than 10 years

The agitator will rock back and forth but it won't turn with a nearly full load. Thus, the clothes are not gradually pulled down and thus don't get as clean as they should. I took the agitator assembly apart but nothing seemed worn out. I replaced everything including the cam, the four plastic dogs and the retainer ring and tightened the bolt as much as possible. I noticed that the agitator will gradually turn full circle if I apply some downward pressure on the agitator while the washing machine is going. When I checked the parts list, I noticed something called a "thrust spacer" in the agitator repair kits (PS334650 or PS 334622 or separate part "cam bearing" PS 342478) but I was not able to locate such a piece for my washer. Did it wear out and disappear down the drain or did I accidentally looase the piece while disassembling the agitator or does my older washer not come with one of these? Also I could not locate my model number - is my 15 year old model too old or has KitchenAid changed model numbers?

Can you please verify your model number on your washer?

With out the model number it is hard to say if your model has the parts in question.

Your washer should not be to old to be on the database.
