Question Agitator question?
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 110.28882790
Age: 5 - 10 years

I think I might have popped the coupler but the agitator won't move.
Does the brake stay engaged to prevent the agitator from moving?
It pumps water so the motor is running. How does the brake disengage
when the cycle starts?

As it starts to spin, the spring in the clutch bumps into a white plastic cam that relises the brake, and everything spins. Then when the motor stops, there's no more push on the plastic cam, so the brakes slam on,stops spin basket.
