Found the problem. I believe that when the coupler went bad, the motor shredded the remaining parts of the coupler. Rubber was everywhere underneath. The little parts of rubber got into the motor and when the motor heated up, the rubber melted. This is what caused the motor to cease up. I sprayed some electric all purpose spray into the motor and let it sit. I then worked the motor with a screw driver and it seemed to loosen it up. I put it back in the washer and it worked. The motor made noises on the spin cycle but then finally quit. Are the bearings in the motor sealed or do I need to spray some grease on it? Some all purpose sprays (WD-40) eat grease. I used an electric all purpose spray(State-Dri). |
