Question Agitator not working
Brand: Roper
Model Number: RAX7245
Age: More than 10 years

As it was filling with water during the final rinse a loud bang occured. The unit went into the spin cycle and shook badly. That lasted for a bit and then things sounded normal. The agitator is not moving at all. I have removed the cabinet and found three small broken plastic pieces and a pile of black powder like shavings under the unit. Any ideas?

That is your coupler. It is real easy, since you have the cabinet all the way off. Take the top and bottom clips that hold the pump in off. Take the clips of the motor i place. Some models have a 1/4'' screw holding those clips in, before you can take the mtor clips off. Take the old pieces of the coupler off the motor, and the clutch assembly. Now when you are putting the coupler piece on the motor, the best way to do it is, if you have a spark plug sochet, put it on the end of a long extention, and put it up tp the coupler, and bang it in till the motor shaft is almost all the way flush. the put the rubber piece on it. Then bang on the other piece to the motor where the shaft comes through just a little bit. Some tomes the motor rubber bushings don't come off with thee motor, take them off, the assembly, and put them on the motor. Line it up and put the bottom clip in first, then the top one. It might be a little hard to get the top one, but it will go.

Talking thank you thank you thank you

Thank you very much. That is exactly what the problem is, as if there was any question. I have ordered it and will have my washer fixed this weekend. Thanks again.
